Mechanism of Action: Havrix is a hepatitis A vaccine containing inactivated hepatitis A virus. It stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies against hepatitis A, providing immunity to the virus.
Drug Usage Cases: Havrix is used to prevent hepatitis A virus infection. It is administered to children and adults, particularly those at risk of exposure or in regions where hepatitis A is common.
Drug Contraindications: Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the vaccine or any component of the formulation, including neomycin and latex (if used in the vial stopper).
