Mechanism of action: Norethindrone acetate is a progestin, which is a synthetic form of the hormone progesterone. Ethinyl estradiol is an estrogen, specifically a synthetic form of the hormone estradiol.
Drug usage cases: Jinteli is a combination hormonal medication used for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in postmenopausal women.
Drug contra indications: Known or suspected pregnancy: Jinteli is contraindicated during pregnancy. It should not be used if a woman is currently pregnant or suspects she may be pregnant. History of estrogen-dependent tumors: Jinteli is contraindicated in individuals with a history of estrogen-dependent tumors, such as breast cancer or endometrial cancer. Undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding: Jinteli is contraindicated in individuals with undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding. It is important to determine the cause of abnormal bleeding before initiating hormone replacement therapy. Hepatic impairment: Jinteli is contraindicated in individuals with severe hepatic impairment or liver disease. The medication may worsen liver function or lead to complications. Thromboembolic disorders: Jinteli is contraindicated in individuals with a history of thromboembolic disorders, such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE). The use of estrogen-containing medications increases the risk of blood clot formation. Hypersensitivity: Jinteli is contraindicated in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to norethindrone acetate, ethinyl estradiol, or any other components of the medication.

Warnings: Increased risk of cardiovascular disorders: Estrogen-containing medications, including Jinteli, have been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disorders, such as heart attack, stroke, and blood clots. This risk may be higher in women who smoke, have a history of cardiovascular disease, or have other risk factors. Increased risk of certain cancers: Estrogen-alone therapy and estrogen plus progestin therapy have been associated with an increased risk of breast cancer and endometrial cancer, respectively. The use of Jinteli should be carefully considered and individualized based on the balance of benefits and risks. Increased risk of gallbladder disease: Hormone replacement therapy, including Jinteli, may increase the risk of gallbladder disease, including gallstones. Individuals with a history of gallbladder disease may require close monitoring while using Jinteli. Potential interactions with other medications: Jinteli may interact with certain medications, including those that induce liver enzymes (e.g., rifampin, carbamazepine) or those that inhibit liver enzymes (e.g., erythromycin, clarithromycin). Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding: There are no adequate studies in women for determining infant risk when using this medication during breastfeeding. Weigh the potential benefits against the potential risks before taking this medication while breastfeeding.
