Dosage form: Oral tablet, extended release (84 mg)
Root of administration: Oral
Dose: 1 to 2 caplets every 12 hours with food
Mechanism of action: Magnesium lactate is the magnesium salt of lactic acid. It provides magnesium ions, which are essential for numerous physiological processes, including muscle contraction, nerve function, and bone formation. Magnesium also acts as a cofactor for over 300 enzymes involved in energy production and other metabolic pathways.
Drug usage cases:
- Dietary supplementation to prevent and treat magnesium deficiency
- Adjunctive treatment for leg muscle cramps during pregnancy
- Acidity regulator in food and beverages (E number E329)
Drug contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to magnesium lactate
- Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 30 mL/minute)

- Signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
