Mechanism of action: Nephron FA combines iron with vitamins and minerals to support red blood cell production and overall health, particularly in patients undergoing kidney dialysis.

Drug usage cases:

• Management of iron deficiency anemia in patients undergoing kidney dialysis
• Supplementation of essential vitamins and minerals in dialysis patients

Drug contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation
• Hemochromatosis
• Hemolytic anemia
• Peptic ulcer disease
• Ulcerative colitis
• Regional enteritis

Side effects:

• Gastrointestinal discomfort (e.g., nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain)
• Black, tarry, or bloody stools
• Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, hives, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat)
• Signs of overdose (e.g., vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, lethargy, shock)

Warnings:

• Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6 years of age. Keep this product out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, seek immediate medical attention or contact a poison control center.
• Folic acid may obscure pernicious anemia or produce remission while neurologic progress may continue.
• Monitor for signs of iron overload, especially in patients with conditions predisposing to iron accumulation.
• Use caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders.
